Auburn got commitments from two defensive linemen on a busy Monday, bringing its 2009 recruiting class back up to 21 members.
Brewton, Ala., defensive tackle Jamar Travis (W.S. Neal High) committed in the morning before the Tigers got a pledge from Mansfield, Texas, defensive end Nosa Eguae (Mansfield-Summitt) later in the day, according to AuburnSports.com.
The 6-foot-1, 312-pound Travis, a four-star recruit, originally committed to Southern Miss but switched his allegiance after an on-campus visit to Auburn last weekend.
Rivals.com’s 29th-ranked defensive tackle had offers from Georgia Tech, Memphis, Clemson, Oregon and Alabama-Birmingham.
Eguae, a 6-foot-3, 244-pound three-star recruit, did not have Auburn on his radar until recently. He committed to Colorado in September but re-opened his recruitment earlier this month. He chose between Auburn, Texas Tech and Minnesota.
He is ranked the No. 17 strongside defensive end in the country by Rivals.
Four-star Sulphur Springs, Texas, quarterback Tyrik Rollison, ranked by Rivals as the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the nation, didn’t come to a decision following the conclusion of his visit to Auburn on Monday.
Rollison has narrowed his choices to Auburn and Kansas State, according to AuburnSports.com.
