The Auburn men's basketball team picked up its fifth commitment for the class of 2012 by landing combo guard Brian Greene, a 6-3, 200-pound prospect who had been playing at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Greene, who is originally from Harvey, Ill., told AuburnUndercover.com that the Tigers first contacted him six days ago and said they needed a guard.
The three recruiting sites that cover Auburn -- AuburnUndercover.com, AuburnSports.com and Inside the Auburn Tigers -- reported the news first.
Greene's commitment could cast some doubt on whether or not all of the Tigers' scholarship players will be back next season.
Auburn graduates three seniors on scholarship, a number that doesn't match the five players the Tigers already have signed. Four players have already signed, and Auburn is still awaiting the decision of Virginia transfer K.T. Harrell, a Montgomery native who is reportedly considering the Tigers.
Auburn has already signed Asauhn Dixon-Tatum, Jordon Granger, Shaq Johnson and Jordan Price for the class of 2012.
