AUBURN, Ala. — Gus Malzahn will hold his weekly Tuesday press conference shortly. It is set to begin at approximately 12:15 ET.
Check back for updates throughout the presser.
Malzahn: "Coming off a tough loss last week to Georgia. It took us out of a chance to repeat as SEC champs."
Malzahn confident the team will bounce back after suffering consecutive losses for the first time in his Auburn tenure. "We've got a strong group of seniors. ... There's no doubt in my mind we're going to finish this thing strong."
Malzahn admits the defense "has some deficiencies, obviously." Says they "just have to do a better job of hiding them."
Has Malzahn heard his name bandied about for other jobs? (Hint: Florida.) It's an assertion he shoots down quickly. "I've got one of the best jobs in college football in Auburn and I'm totally committed to that."
When it comes to defensive end Carl Lawson, Malzahn says "it doesn't look" like the sophomore will play this season. He's been rehabbing from an ACL injury he suffered during the final week of spring practice.
Malzahn says receiver Duke Williams hasn't practiced since getting injured versus Texas A&M.
That's it for now. Keep checking back throughout the day for more coverage of Tuesday's proceedings.
