AUBURN, Ala. — Reese Dismukes could end his career at Auburn by winning one of the nation's most prestigious awards.
On Thursday, it was announced Auburn's senior center was one of six semifinalists for the Outland Trophy, which is annually awarded to the player deemed college football's best interior lineman.
Dismukes has been a stalwart on Auburn's offensive line the past four seasons. He's started 47 consecutive games at center, the longest starting streak on the team. This is the first time he's been an Outland Trophy semifinalist.
The other five semifinalists are Texas defensive tackle Malcom Brown, Baylor offensive tackle Spencer Drango, Oregon offensive tackle Jake Fisher, Florida State offensive guard Tre’ Jackson and Iowa offensive tackle Brandon Scherff.
The field will be trimmed to three finalists next Tuesday. The winner will be revealed during the Home Depot College Football Awards show on Dec. 11. The official presentation of the trophy will come Jan. 15, 2015, in Omaha, Neb.
