AUBURN, Ala. — The ever-versatile Josh Holsey added another spot to his resume Saturday. In his three seasons with the Tigers to this point, Holsey has seen time at both cornerback and safety, switching between the two as needed.
Saturday, he played at Star, the defense's hybrid safety-linebacker position. The junior backed up senior starter Robenson Therezie.
Holsey wasted no time adapting to Star, as he collected four tackles Saturday, tied for fourth-most on the team.
Afterward, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn was evasive when asked why Holsey lined up at a new position.
"There were some of our guys that we wanted to be smart with and make sure that they're healing up and all that," he said. "So that had something to do with it."
