Auburn wins non-conference tilt with Georgia State

AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn got back in the win column Wednesday, taking a 4-2 win against Georgia State at home.

The Tigers (20-13) were coming off a home series loss to SEC foe Arkansas last weekend. But the hosts showed no ill effects Wednesday, rallying back from a 2-1 deficit to score the final three runs of the game.

Phenix City native Anfernee Grier led the way offensively, going 3-for-5 and scoring a pair of runs. Senior Jacob Milliman (1-0) got his first career win, coming on in relief and pitching four innings of shutout ball.

The defeat added to Georgia State's (19-5) forgettable history at Auburn. The Panthers have never beaten the Tigers on the road in 12 attempts.

Auburn gets back to conference play on Friday, as it travels to Baton Rouge, La., to take on LSU for a three-game series.
