AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn has another game set for its 2021 campaign. On Thursday, it was revealed Auburn will host Georgia State on Sept. 25, 2021. The news was first reported by FBSchedules.com.
It will mark the first meeting between the two schools. According to the website, Auburn will pay Georgia State $1.25 million to come to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The matchup with Georgia State is the second non-conference contest announced for the Tigers in 2021. Auburn has agreed to a home-and-home series with California beginning in 2020; the return date in 2021 will send Auburn to the West Coast. That game against the Golden Bears will be held Sept. 18, 2021, the week before the Tigers come home to take on the Panthers.
Georgia State has been a member of the FBS the past two seasons, competing in the Sun Belt Conference. The Panthers went 1-11 last season and 0-12 in 2013. Georgia State has yet to win a game in conference play.
