Former Auburn QB Zeke Pike arrested again
Former Auburn quarterback Zeke Pike has left his third college football program since 2012 after another incident with law enforcement.
"Right now basically it is more important for Zeke Pike to take care of Zeke Pike rather than worry about football related items and give him the option to work on that," Racers coach Mitch Stewart told Murray State student newspaper. "He can now step away and take care of himself without worrying about football."
According to the Paducah (Ky.) Sun's Edward Marlowe, Pike was arrested Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, disregarding a stop sign, failure to signal, resisting arrest and second-degree escape.
Pike signed with Auburn as a quarterback out of high school was dismissed from the program after being arrested for public intoxication in June 2012. He transferred to Louisville, sat out a year due to NCAA transfer rules, and was moved to tight end and special teams duty during the 2013 season. After being arrested on an alcohol-related charge in 2014, Pike transferred to Football Championship Subdivision program Murray State.
