Auburn’s 2016 conference schedule announced on SEC Network Thursday night

Auburn’s 2016 schedule opens with five straight home games at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The SEC aired a televised schedule on its own network Thursday night to announce next year’s full schedule of conference games.

Auburn’s SEC schedule kicks off on Sept. 17 when it hosts Texas A&M. The Tigers first road game comes on Oct. 8 in a visit to Mississippi State. It’s other road games in the SEC are against Ole Miss (Oct. 29), Georgia (Nov. 12) and Alabama (Nov. 26).

The 2016 SEC schedule features one bye week for each team, and eight conference games with six against division opponents, and two against non-division opponents.

Next year’s schedule is the first that requires SEC to play an ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12 or Major Independent opponent on an annual basis.

Auburn opens the season against Clemson, a member of the ACC, on Sept. 3. Clemson is one of the surprising undefeated teams this year at 7-0, and ranked No. 3 in the country.

Nov. 12: at Georgia

Nov. 19: Alabama A&M

Nov. 26 at Alabama
