Auburn’s final road trip of the 2015 season is underway.

The Tigers arrived at the Hyatt Regency Wynfrey Hotel for the Birmingham Bowl late Saturday night. The team is spending the week in the area leading up to the game on Dec. 30 at Legion Field against Memphis.

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn arrived with his players at the hotel after holding one last practice on campus.

The rest of the Tigers’ scheduled practices this season will be held at Hoover High School Sunday through Tuesday.

Each night Auburn will participate in team events including a bowl sponsored team dinner with Memphis, a visit to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and a stop at the Children’s of Alabama Hospital.

Memphis arrived at its team hotel in Birmingham early in the day Saturday with interim coach Darrell Dickey spending a few minutes talking to the media.

The team hired Mike Norvell to replace Justin Fuente at the beginning of December, but he will wait until after the bowl game to take over the team due to his ties to coach Gus Malzahn. The coaches spent two seasons together at Tulsa (2007-08).
