Anfernee Grier hits homer as Auburn beats Sacramento State in opener

AUBURN, Ala. -- Anfernee Grier (Russell County High) hit a two-run homer to lead Auburn to a 10-5 win over Sacramento State in the season opener on Friday at Plainsman Park.

Grier finished the day with three hits.

Jordan Ebert also had three hits for the Tigers. Niko Buentello drove in three runs.

Cole Lipscomb earned the win. He allowed three runs -- one earned -- on four hits in five innings.

The two teams play again at 2 p.m. Saturday.
