Auburn announced a pair of future home games Thursday against Southern Miss.
The Tigers will host the Conference USA team at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 29, 2018 and on Sept. 26, 2020.
The Hattiesbrug American received the game contracts via an open record request from Southern Miss. The documents show Auburn is set to pay a combined $3.55 million for the two game series ($1.7 million in 2018, $1.85 million in 2020).
Southern Miss has played at least one opponent from the SEC since 2013. The Golden Eagles are scheduled to visit LSU and Kentucky this season.
Auburn is still searching for a power five opponent for the 2018 season. The only other game on its non-conference schedule is against Alabama State on Nov. 11, 2018.
The Tigers’ second game against Southern Miss is the first one announced on the program’s 2020 schedule.
Auburn has future high-profile matchups set against against Clemson (2017), Oregon (2019) and Penn State (2021, 2022).
