TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Tierney Jenkins collected 17 points and 13 rebounds and LaToya King had a steal in the final seconds, helping Alabama hold on for a 55-53 win over rival Auburn.

The Crimson Tide (10-14, 2-9 Southeastern Conference) blew most of a 12-point lead in the final minutes but managed to snap a four-game losing streak. The Tigers (12-12, 3-8) have now lost six of their last seven games.

Alabama went up 55-43 with 5:12 left on Jenkins’ fast-break layup but the Tide didn’t score again. Alli Smalley hit a free throw and then a layup to cut Auburn’s deficit to two points with 46 seconds left. Auburn’s Jordan Greenleaf rebounded a missed basket but King stole the ball with a second left to preserve the win.

Dedrea Magee had eight points and nine assists for Alabama. Smalley led Auburn with 17 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Keke Carrier scored 12 points.
