Alabama running backs limited again
With the team still searching for a quarterback, the running game wasn't the focus of the Tide's scrimmage for the second straight week.
According to Saban's numbers, Derrick Henry had eight carries, Kenyan Drake had six and freshman Damien Harris had 14. That was the plan going in. While they may not have gotten a lot of work during the scrimmage, Saban said he likes the running backs and the "things we can do in the running game" with the backs they have.
"We wanted to get them banged, we wanted to get Kenyan Drake hit, he hadn't been hit since the Ole Miss game, so he scrimmaged quite a bit and we wanted five or six carries for him and to play a lot of loose play downs, which he did," Saban said.
