Alabama's Henry wins Doak Walker Award and Maxwell Award

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama running back Derrick Henry and center Ryan Kelly racked up individual national awards on Thursday night at the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show, which took place at the College Football Hall of Fame.

Henry, a Heisman Trophy finalist, received the Doak Walker Award (best running back), the Maxwell Award (college player of the year) and was also named the Walker Camp Player of the Year.

He is only the second Alabama player to win the Maxwell, joining former Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron (2013). Henry is also the first running back to receive the honor since Larry Johnson (Penn State) in 2002.

Henry joined Trent Richardson as the only players to win the Doak Walker.

He is the first player to win all three awards in the same season since 2002 (Johnson).

Henry has rushed for a school- and SEC-record 1,986 yards and 23 touchdowns on 339 carries

Kelly is the second Alabama player to win the Rimington, joining Barrett Jones (2012).
