Long snapper Thomas Fletcher commits to Alabama
Alabama continued to add to its 2017 class Thursday when it received a commitment from top-ranked long snapper Thomas Fletcher.
Fletcher, 6-foot-1, 215 pounds from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., is Alabama’s 15th commit in the 2017 class.
“As difficult as this decision has been I could not be more excited about what the future holds,” Fletcher wrote on his Twitter account, @longsnapfletch. “After much consideration among myself and my family, I’m blessed, proud and excited to announce that I have committed to THE University of Alabama!”
Fletcher is the No. 1 long snapper in the country according to Chrissailerkicking.com. The long snapper will join No. 1 kicker Brandon Ruiz (Williams Field High School, Gilbert, Ariz) in Alabama’s 2017 class.
According to the site’s evaluation of Fletcher, the rising high school senior “Handles pressure as well as anyone I have ever had and has the potential to be the best in the history of Rubio Long Snapping.”
