Georgia, Missouri split doubleheader

Michael Curry went 3-for-5 with two homers Saturday to lead Georgia to a 7-4 win over Missouri in the first game of a doubleheader at Taylor Stadium. Missouri came back to take the second game 5-0.

In Game 1, Trevor Kieboom (CVCC) went 3-for-4 with a double for the Bulldogs (25-26, 9-17 SEC). Friday’s game was rained out, which forced the doubleheader on Saturday.

Kevin Smith (5-1) allowed just one hit over the final three innings and got the win. Cole Bartlett (3-5) took the loss in relief for Missouri (25-26, 8-18).

In Game 2, the Tigers’ Reggie McClain (5-3) allowed just three hits in the complete-game victory. Connor Jones (5-6) allowed five runs on five hits and struck out seven in taking the loss.

The series concludes Sunday at 2 p.m.
