The breakdown: Georgia's tentative scholarship roster for 2012
ATHENS - The numbers crunch is always something to keep in mind for a football program heading into an offseason. Here's a breakdown of Georgia's situation for 2012, based on the current roster.
Remember that a bunch of walk-ons were awarded scholarships before last season, and they were awarded on a year-to-year basis. Those players are included in the list below, and their former walk-on status noted with an asterisk.

- That’s 83 on scholarship, with five who were walk-ons before being upgraded before the season. The NCAA limit is 85.
The number also includes players who could leave early for the pros (such as Orson Charles and Bacarri Rambo), or players who could join Jordan Love in transferring. So while technically Georgia only has two more scholarships to give, that’s not a very hard number.
- Georgia would have room for at least 10 more recruits under the SEC’s new limit of 25, although the number could expand to 27 because LeMay and Conley back-count. (They enrolled early last year.)
In any case, it's not likely the Bulldogs will max out their signing class, unless there's a mass exodus of current players.
