For its upcoming game against Tennessee, Georgia is sticking with Greyson Lambert.

Lambert is coming off a performance against Alabama in which he went 10-of-24 for 86 yards and an interception. Lambert was benched at the end of the first half as backup Brice Ramsey played five Georgia possessions in the game.

"Right now, it's going to be Lambert," Georgia coach Mark Richt said.

Lambert entered Saturday's game having gone 33-of-35 over his previous two games against South Carolina and Southern. Against Alabama in a 38-10 loss, Lambert had a rough day in rainy conditions. His first pass of the game was underthrown to receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who was wide open down the sideline.

After reviewing the film from the game, Richt said the passing game had a lot of issues that went beyond Lambert's play on the field.

"We had a few things happen in the pass game," Richt said. "We missed some receivers, dropped some balls. We had some balls batted down. We had a sack or two. I know one for sure was on a missed as

signment. When you have a game where a quarterback hits 24 of 25 (against South Carolina), or whatever the heck it is, good things have to happen -- protection, route-running, ball-catching and accurate throws.

"We had some protection issues, we had some drop issues, we had some accuracy issues. It wasn't the best conditions to throw and catch for anybody. And Alabama caused a lot of those problems. We have to react better to those."

Carter out for season

Georgia inside linebacker Reggie Carter will miss the remainder of the season following surgery to his shoulder, Richt confirmed on Sunday.

Carter appeared in one game this season, which came against Vanderbilt in Week 2. He dressed out against Southern last week but did log a snap. He wasn't spotted on the sideline for Saturday's 38-10 loss to Alabama.

"He had a repair of his shoulder," Richt said.

The website 247Sports.com was the first to report the story.

Carter totaled two tackles in his only game action against the Commodores. Carter, a junior, will likely be eligible for a medical redshirt if he decides to take one.

Updates on injuries

Georgia center Brandon Kublanow is considered "day-to-day" after spraining his ankle in Saturday's loss.

Kublanow injured his ankle in the second half of the loss and was replaced by center Hunter Long. Richt said Kublanow would not be able to participate if Georgia held practice on Sunday.

"He sprained his ankle," Richt said. "To what degree, it's hard to say," Richt said.

Richt said the Georgia staff doesn't think the injury is anything that could require surgery.

Richt said receiver Isaiah McKenzie is a "maybe" for next Saturday's game against Tennessee. McKenzie injured his left hamstring this weekend against Alabama.

Safety Dominick Sanders suffered a shoulder stinger against Alabama and Richt said he should be fine moving forward.

Richt explains Ramsey's picks

When backup quarterback Brice Ramsey was in the game, he struggled, going 1-of-6 for 20 yards and two interceptions.

Richt said Ramsey was responsible for one of the picks, while the other wasn't necessarily his fault.

"One of them there was more of a miscommunication in what he thought the receiver was going to do," Richt said. "You got to cut the ball loose with the faith a route is being run a certain way. That's one of the issues. The other one, I think he would have been better off going to the check down."
