Olten Downs remains on Georgia's coaching staff

Shaw High alum Olten Downs, who was an assistant coach under Dell McGee at Carver, is staying on at Georgia.

Downs was hired last year by Mark Richt to be Georgia's quality control coordinator, an off-the-field position.

He will remain on Smart's staff as the Assistant Director of Player Development, another off-the-field position.

McGee is Georgia's running backs coach. Downs was the defensive coordinator for McGee at Carver.

After Rich was fired after the end of the regular season and several assistant coaches left, Downs was given on-the-field responsibilities with Georgia's receivers for the TaxSlayer Bowl.
