Georgia Southern downs Georgia in 10 innings

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia Southern's Ryan Cleveland hit a two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning to lift the Eagles to a 5-3 win over Georgia on Saturday at Foley Field.

Cleveland finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs. The homer was the 17th of his career.

Georgia trailed 3-0 heading into the seventh. Keegan McGovern hit a two-run homer as Georgia pulled within one. Mitchell Webb drove in the tying run on a groundout.

Georgia starter Heath Holder went 6 2-3 innings and allowed three runs.

Georgia was held hitless by freshman Chase Cohen until the fifth inning. That was the only hit he allowed as he was taken out after the end of the fifth.

Georgia won the series opener on Friday. The teams play the rubber match at 1 p.m. Sunday.
