Travon Matthews shows out in Marion County’s season-opening win
Marion County running back Travon Matthews put on a show Friday, taking 26 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles’ 25-7 victory over Schley County.
Matthews had all three of the Eagles’ touchdowns, and Kevin Umanzor tacked on a 30-yard field goal.
Marion County quarterback Jeff Oakes ended the day with nine completions on 16 attempts for 92 yards. Wide receiver Trice McCannon led the Eagles with five receptions for 48 yards.
