Georgia Tech knows a thing or two about Harris County quarterbacks. Current Tigers quarterback Davion Mahone may only be a sophomore, but he is already liking what the Yellow Jackets have to offer.

“It was a great experience,” Mahone said. “The coaches treated the recruits well, and I honestly would love to play there because the atmosphere at the game was amazing.”

Mahone said he didn’t get a chance to talk to meet Yellow Jackets head coach Paul Johnson but did talk to a few assistants. Mahone enjoyed what Georgia Tech offers as far as facilities, and he complimented the locker room, weight room and film room setups.

Mahone has been a tricky quarterback for defenses to stop in 2017. According to MaxPreps, Mahone has rushed for 258 yards, thrown for 323 yards and posted four total touchdowns in five games.

Mahone is part of the Class of 2020, so he has plenty of time before his recruitment really heats up. Still, he fully intends to make another trip to Bobby Dodd Stadium this fall.

“I will be back at Georgia Tech before the season is over,” Mahone said. “I am going to try and be back when they play against Georgia. That’s a game you don’t want to miss.”
