Central Red Devils drop the hammer on Jeff Davis
After Central’s first play of offense against Jeff Davis, it became pretty clear how Friday’s region showdown was going to go.
Following a blocked Volunteers’ punt courtesy Jaamar Spivey, quarterback Peter Parrish took the Red Devils’ first play from scrimmage for a nine-yard touchdown. It was only the beginning for Central (7-0, 4-0), which handed the Volunteers (4-4, 2-2) a lopsided 55-18 defeat.
Central’s total team effort was evident from the scoring summary alone.
Parrish posted two rushing touchdowns, while fellow quarterback Tucker Melton threw two scores and rushed for another. Anthony Miles scored the Red Devils’ second touchdown then later caught a 54-yard touchdown pass from Melton. E.J. Williams produced two touchdowns as well, catching passes from Melton and A.J. Horton.
The Red Devils hit the road next week to face Lee Montgomery.
