Three local teams ranked in latest girls basketball polls

With another week of high school girls basketball in the books, another local team has presented itself among the best in the state.

Kyle Sandy, whose website Sandy’s Spiel provides weekly boys and girls basketball rankings, now has Harris County in the top 10 of his Class 5A rankings. The Lady Tigers are No. 6 thanks to a 6-0 start, which included a dominant 75-57 victory over then-No. 4 Bainbridge.

Harris County joins Carver and Marion County as the local teams ranked in their respective classifications. Carver remains No. 1 in Class 4A after improving to 6-0, while Marion County is fifth in Class A-Public for the second straight week.
