Keyshaun Sampton of Spencer High School is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Sampton, a senior guard on Spencer’s basketball team, produced 12 points and 7 steals in only 11 minutes Friday against Jordan, then 27 points, 4 steals, 4 rebounds and 3 assists Saturday against Harris County.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a player.
Sampton received 56% of the 6,971 votes from our readers. Voting started Tuesday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
