Hayden Idell of Pacelli is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Idell, a junior esports player, won his second straight Smash Brothers state championship and finished the season with a 21-1 record.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s three nominees, Hayden received 64% of the 8,483 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
