The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer’s High School Girls Athlete of the Week poll is . . .
Brooke Bass of Harris County is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Bass, a senior point guard on the basketball team, made the winning free throws and scored 13 points to lead the Tigers over Bradwell Institute 50-48 in second round of the state playoffs.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a female athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s four nominees, Bass received 91% of the 2,342 votes from our readers. Voting started Tuesday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
