Brennon Horton of Harris County is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.

Horton, a senior on the baseball team, went 3-for-8 with one double and three RBI last week against Opelika, Brookstone and Whitewater. In six innings pitched against Brookstone, he allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.

Among this week’s four nominees, Horton received 68% of the 4,475 votes from our readers. Voting started Tuesday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
