The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer High School Baseball Player of the Year poll is . . .
Walker Hilton of Pacelli is the Ledger-Enquirer 2024 High School Baseball Player of the Year, based on our online poll.
Hilton, a senior outfielder and left-handed pitcher, batted .344 with 32 runs, 12 RBI and 20 stolen bases. On the mound he went 9-2 with 56 strikeouts. He was selected first-team All-Chattahoochee Valley, first-team all-state in the Georgia Independent Athletic Association and GIAA Region Pitcher of the Year. He will play for Chattahoochee Valley Community College.
We invited each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a baseball player for this poll.
Among the seven nominees, Hilton received 40% of the 137,186 votes. Voting started June 17 and ended at noon June 21. The poll had no limit on the number of times a person could vote. Here are the complete final results:
