Devils 4-2 in 32-team tourney

Columbus High competed at the Lovett Block Party, a 32-team tournament at the Lovett School in Atlanta.

The Blue Devils defeated Athens Christian (25-13, 25-12), Marietta (25-12 25-22), Holy Innocent (25-14, 22-25) and Norcross (25-20, 25-15). They lost to St. Pius X (25-23, 25-21) and Landmark Christian (27-25 17-25, 15-13).

Terakka Walker had 46 kills and 45 digs to lead Columbus in the tournament. Kristen Fleming added 127 assists.

Calvary Christian takes third

Calvary Christian finished third in the Frederica Tournament at St. Simons Island, Ga.

Calvary Christian lost to the Atlanta Girls School 25-17, 15-25, 15-4; beat Dominion 25-23, 18-25, 19-17; beat Mount Vernon 25-5, 25-13; lost to Dominion 25-23, 20-25, 15-12 and beat AGS 23-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Team leaders —McKenzie Bragg 15 kills, T.J. Drennan 8 aces; Amanda Renfroe 25 assists. Records—Calvary Christian: 12-7.

Chattahoochee cuffs Glascock

Chattahoochee County survived rain and lightning to beat Glascock County 49-8 and improve to 2-1.

Caleb Horvath completed 7-of-12 passes for 194 yards to lead the Panthers. Octavius Staten had 130 yards receiving with two touchdowns.

The game was delayed an hour and a half because of weather.
