TROY, Ala. -- LeFlore's Shanece McKinney hit two free throws with 12 seconds left to clinch a 50-46 win Tuesday morning over Central-Phenix City in the second round of the AHSAA Class 6A girls state tournament.
Missed opportunities kept the Central-Phenix City Lady Red Devils from advancing to the elite eight.
Trailing by two points with just 38 seconds remaining, Central senior Nesfayia Watkins, who led the team with 15 points, was called for a travel while making what would have been the game winner. She then missed the front end of a one-and-one free throw.
