Chattahoochee Valley Community College will honor the first class of the school's Hall of Fame tonight at 7 p.m. EST at Green Island Country Club in Columbus.
The inaugural hall of fame class will have 30 members, individuals who have performed a number of roles for the college from community support and faculty members to athletes and scholars.
Woodrow “Skeet” Wilson will receive the Presidential Award from CVCC. He, along with his brothers, Johnny and Willie, and the Cason Calloway family, donated 103 acres for the construction of the CVCC campus. Wilson is a former mayor of Phenix City and was influential in securing legislative approval for the creation of the college. In 1995 the CVCC Alumni Association recognized him for his decades of service to the College.
