Kendrick No. 1 in final poll

The Kendrick Lady Cherokees, who finished off a perfect season with a win over Carrollton in the Class AAA state championship game Saturday, was ranked No. 1 in the final Georgia Sports Writers Association poll.

The Hardaway girls did not make the top 10, but did receive some votes.

Other girls teams in the Chattahoochee Valley to make the final polls included Randolph-Clay, which finished third in AA. Manchester received votes in that poll. Taylor County received votes in the A poll.

In the AAA boys poll, Carver finished second to champion Glenn Hills. Jordan came in fifth, and Shaw received votes.

Other boys teams in the Chattahoochee Valley to make the final polls included Randolph-Clay, which finished fifth in AA. Manchester received votes in that poll. In the A poll, Central-Talbotton came in seventh. Chattahoochee County received votes in the A poll.
