All of today’s sports events for Muscogee County high schools were postponed Sunday because of the snow storm that also forced classes to be cancelled.
Gary Gibson, the school district’s athletics director, said today’s practices also are cancelled, with a few possible exceptions. He allowed basketball teams still in the state playoffs to decide by noon whether they still will practice today.
No new dates for the postponed events were announced. “We’ll ask all the coaches to get their games rescheduled by the middle of the day Tuesday,” Gibson.
Gibson also postponed the free workshop, “How to Prepare to be a College Student-Athlete,” that was set for tonight in Hardaway’s auditorium. The session for rising eighth- through 12th-graders will be rescheduled, Gibson said.
