Hardaway quarterback Marcus Smith made it official - he really wants a chance to play quarterback at college. Smith, two teammates and a Hardaway baseball player signed to play their sports at the college level on Wednesday afternoon.
Smith, who was long committed to Florida, changed his mind last month while on a visit to Louisville. Former Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong had recently taken over as head coach at Louisville, and Smith said he felt a strong relationship with strong from his time spent being recruited by Florida and that Strong was one of the few who promised him he'd have the chance to play quarterback rather than switch to another position.
Hardaway defensive back Ryan White and offensive lineman Joey Peacock signed with Huntingdon (Ala.).
Hardaway pitcher and infielder Easton Gilbert signed to play baseball at Andrew College.
