This Columbus area high school football team has best chance to win state title, poll says

As high school football teams in the Columbus area prepare to open their 2024 seasons — Aug. 16 in Georgia and Aug. 23 in Alabama — the Ledger-Enquirer asked its readers to predict which Chattahoochee Valley is most likely to win a state championship this year.

Last year, 10 of the 17 local teams qualified for the state playoffs, four played in a state championship game, and one won a state title. This year, 11 moved to a new region, and four changed head coaches.

Voting started Aug. 13 and ended at noon Aug. 16. There was no limit to the number of times someone could vote.

Brookstone won the poll, receiving 19 of the 92 votes (21%). Here are the complete final results:
