Devin Brown of Russell County is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Brown is a senior running back on Russell County’s football team. He scored three touchdowns, rushed for 100 yards on 22 carries and caught four passes for 17 yards in the Warriors’ 21-17 win Sept. 6 at Wetumpka.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s six nominees, Brown received 55% of the 22,319 votes from our readers. Voting started Tuesday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
