Former Central-Phenix City and Auburn golfer Haley Wilson shot a 4-over 148 on Tuesday to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open.
Wilson finished third in the 36-hole qualifying event at the Oaks Club (Eagle Course), which is located near Sarasota. There were a total of three berths from this qualifier available.
The women’s open will be played July 5-8 at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisc.
“I am pretty excited,” Wilson said. “I played pretty well for the two rounds. I am anxious to see what is next for me as I start my professional career."
