The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week poll is . . .
Jaira Price of Hardaway is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Price, is a senior middle blocker and middle/outside hitter on Hardaway’s volleyball team. In wins Sept. 10 against Sumter County and Shaw, she totaled 11 blocks and four kills. She leads the region’s first-place team with four blocks per game.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a female athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s four nominees, Price received 50% of the 11,461 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
