The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week poll is . . .
Cade Kieffer of Harris County is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Kieffer is a freshman on Harris County’s cross country team. He placed 183rd out of approximately 500 runners with a time of 18:40 at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville on Sept. 14. He has produced team’s top time at their past three meets.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s six nominees, Kieffer received 41% of the 22,611 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
