Madalynn “Cricket” Cauley of Harris County is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.

Cauley is a junior in Harris County’s JROTC battalion. She led the team to a second-place finish in the Raider Competition at Hardaway. She serves as the battalion’s adjutant, and she has 4.125 grade-point average.

We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a female athlete for this poll.

Among this week’s five nominees, Cauley received 59% of the 20,370 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
