Jackson Sellers picked off a pass in the end zone with 21 seconds left as Calvary Christian held on for a 21-14 victory over Creekside Christian on Friday night at Britt David Park.
The win coupled with a loss by Community Christian gives the Knights the No. 2 seed in the GICAA Class AA state playoffs. Calvary Christian will host Community Christian next week in the semifinals.
Creekside had climbed to within seven, 21-14, on a Cameron Green 13-yard touchdown pass to Shane Thompson with 2:58 left in the game.
Creekside got the ball back and drove down to the Knights' 5 before Sellers intercepted the pass and secured the win, which moves Calvary Christian to 8-2 overall. The Knights finished 3-2 in Region 1-AA. Creekside finished 6-3 and 2-3.
Anthony Santiago rushed 16 trimes for 163 yards for the Knights. He finishes the regular season with 1,517 yards.
Creekside got on the board first on a 1-yard run by Justin Arth.
Calvary Christian scored all of its points in the second quarter.
Jacquez Green scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 10-yard run with 8:24 left before halftime.
Santiago gave the Knights the lead with a 76-yard run.
Green's second score was from 24 yards out, just 1:12 before intermission.
