Christian Olson of Harris County is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Olson is a senior outside linebacker and running back on Harris County’s football team. In the Tigers’ 31-16 home win Oct. 4 over Griffin, he made a positive impact on all three units.
On offense, he rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. On special teams, returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. On defense, he made two tackles, including one for a loss, and broke up one pass.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s four nominees, Olson received 53% of the 4,653 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
