The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week poll is . . .
Kyla Estes of Harris County is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Estes is a junior right-side hitter on Harris County’s volleyball team. She totaled 31 kills, .250 hitting percentage and 20 digs in six matches last week. The opponents were Hardaway (2-0 win), Glenwood (2-1 loss), Central Carroll (2-0 loss), Mundy’s Mill (2-0 win), Heard County (2-0 win) and Pike County (2-0 win).
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a female athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s three nominees, Estes received 52% of the 12,305 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
