Cam Carino of Pacelli is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
Carino is a sophomore running back and defensive back on Pacelli’s football team. He rushed for 121 yards on 15 carries and made one tackle for a loss while playing the entire game on offense and defense in the Vikings’ 31-3 win Nov. 1 over. Mount de Sales Academy in the first round of Georgia Independing Athletic Association Class AAAA state playoffs.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s three nominees, Carino received 60% of the 5,608 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
