The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer Fall Sports Boys Athlete of the Year poll is . . .

Levi Pinder of Glenwood is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Fall Sports Boys Athlete of the Year in the Columbus area.

Levi was a senior quarterback on Glenwood’s football team this past season. He completed 123 of 170 passes for 2,193 yards, 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed for 139 yards and 6 touchdowns on 39 carries.

The winners of each Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week poll during the 2024 fall sports season were eligible to be nominated by an official from their school.

Only L-E subscribers were allowed to vote in this end-of-season poll, and they could vote as many times as they wanted from Dec. 23 until noon Jan. 3.

Among the poll’s 11 nominees, Levi received 69% of the 3,394 votes. Here are the complete final results:

  • Levi Pinder, Glenwood football senior QB: 2,335 votes, 69%. Completed 123 of 170 passes for 2,193 yards, 21 TD and 6 Int. Rushed for 139 yards and 6 YD on 39 carries.
  • Donovan “DJ” Colvin, Pacelli football sophomore RB/DB: 685 votes, 20%. Totaled 55 carries for 631 yards and 5 TD. “DJ plays the game full speed,” said coach Dwight Jones. “He has great vision as a running back. He runs with explosive power.”
  • Ja’Keith Tolbert, Brookstone football senior WR/CB: 215 votes, 6%. Produced 42 receptions for 542 yards and 4 TD, plus 37 tackles, 1 TFL, 3 Int, 2 FF, 2 FR, 1 defensive TD and 10 KR for 199 yards.
  • Devin Brown, Russell County football senior RB: 74 votes, 2%. Rushed for 1,390 yards and 20 TD on 185 carries in 11 games. Also had 35 receptions for 457 yards and 7 TD.
  • Cam Carino, Pacelli football sophomore RB/DB: 68 votes, 2%. Had 8 carries for 225 yards and 1 TD, plus 50 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 TFL, 1 Int and 1 FF. Coach Dwight Jones said his work ethic, heart and determination make him a very smart football player.
  • Ran Ogletree, Harris County football senior QB/WR/DB: 4 votes, 0%. Second-team All-Region DB, 20 total tackles and 2 PBU, plus 769 total yards, 6.9 yards per carry and 4 TD.
  • PJ Sterling, Harris County football junior DE: 4 votes, 0%. Notched 35 tackles, 6 TFL, 9 QB pressures and 3 FF.
  • Cade Kieffer, Harris County cross country freshman: 3 votes, 0%. Second-team All-Valley. PR 17:55. Placed 183rd out of approximately 500 runners at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville on Sept. 14.
  • Nolan Johnson, Harris County football junior MLB: 2 votes, 0%. Second-team All-Region. 64 tackles, 10 TFL, 4 QB pressures, 1 Int and 2 FR.
  • Carter Myers, Harris County football junior LB: 2 votes, 0%. Second-team All-Region. Collected 48 tackles, 3 TFL and 4 QB pressures.
  • Christian Olson, Harris County football senior OLB/RB: 2 votes, 0%. Second-team All-Region. Generated 267 yards rushing, 5.6 per carry and 3 TD, plus 90-yard KR for TD, 38 tackles, 2 TFL and 3 PBU.
