The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week poll is . . .

Taylor Horton is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.

As a senior center midfielder on the Northside High School girls soccer team, Taylor scored one goal in the Patriots’ 2-0 win over LaGrange and contributed one assist in their 1-0 win over Dutchtown last week. She also totaled 11 steals in both games combined.

We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a female athlete for this poll.

Among this week’s two nominees, Taylor received 60% of the 27,720 votes from our readers. Voting started Tuesday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
