The winner of the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week poll is . . .
Millie Holbrook is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
She is an eighth-grader on Brookstone School’s golf team. Millie shot a 70 March 4 at the Green Island Brookstone Girls Invitational, tying for third place alongside scramble partner Josephine Bolinger. Millie also was the low match scorer (2-under 34) Feb. 26 against Columbus at Green Island.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a female athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s six nominees, Millie received 54% of the 15,217 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
