Colton Armstrong is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Boys Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
As a senior on the Russell County High School baseball team, Colton plays third base or first base when he doesn’t pitch. In 42 at-bats this season through March 19, he had a .405 batting average., .857 slugging percentage, 4 doubles, 5 home runs, 14 RBI and 9 walks.
Highlighting his season so far, Colton homered in three consecutive at-bats: his last one March 7 against Calvary Christian School and his first two March 8 against Columbus High School.
Colton also excels in academics with a 4.3 grade-point average. He has committed to play for Southern Union State Community College.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.
